It's closing sections of Dufferin Islands for needed maintenance and infrastructure repairs to November
Parts of Dufferin Islands will be closed now to the beginning of November.
Niagara Parks tells us it's for infrastructure repairs, which include upgrades to electrical systems and new underground service lines.
The work was planned to be done in phases over the winter, but the upgrades were deemed critical to maintaining the power grid, so closing off sections will speed up the work.
Niagara Parks says perimetre parking areas and trails within the Islands will be closed, with signs to guide visitors.
The heavily used interior walking trails and bridges will stay open, as well as Burning Springs Hill, but with signs to guide you.
