Hanging baskets will adorn the streets of Niagara-on-the-Lake after all.
The town had decided to revive the program about a month after it was cancelled.
Officials were trying to save money during the pandemic but they have been able to recover some additional savings since then.
Contract staff members will be rehired in order to create, hang and maintain the baskets all while maintaining appropriate safety precautions.
Lord Mayor Betty Disero says the hanging baskets are one of the town’s signature features.
“The breathtaking flower arrangement provide a vibrancy to our Town that residents and visitors have come to expect and appreciate. While we are not yet back to business as usual, I’m hopeful that the installation of these baskets will be another way to bring back some semblance of normalcy and hope to the Town streets.”
