Two Niagara MPPs are questioning Premier Doug Ford over issues with the provincial vaccine booking portal.
St. Catharines MPP Jennie Stevens says that one issue faced by Niagara's seniors is that there was no advance warning that the province would begin allowing vaccines to people 70 and older, resulting in delays on the booking system.
Niagara Falls MPP Wayne Gates tells the legislature that some seniors in Fort Erie had their appointments cancelled as a result of a glitches causing overbooking.
He claims that many of the seniors, some of whom have mobility issues, were then forced to book at sites outside of Fort Erie.
"Yesterday the premier stood in Niagara and said anyone over 70 could simply call and get a vaccination appointment. Well if we spoke to residents he would know that all day they were struggling all day to get appointments."
Gates also says that many local pharmacies are still awaiting shots in order to administer doses.
