The Niagara Health Foundation has awarded scholarships to three local aspiring medical professionals.
The Dr. Laszlo Kuharik and Maria Kuharik Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Stephan Oreskovich of Niagara Falls.
Oreskovich, who is a first year medical student at the University of Ottawa, will receive $18,000 over three years.
Kaitlyn Palmateer of Pelham was awarded $1000 for her first year of post-secondary school through the Welland Hospital Tuition Scholarship.
She is studying medical science at Western University.
The Dr. Ken Hope Memorial Award was given to Ryan Stark of Welland.
He is a first year Kinesiology student at Brock University.
