Niagara Health has decided to postpone elective surgeries and non-urgent ambulatory procedures in response to the coronavirus.
This starts tomorrow and it could last a several weeks.
Officials will contact all of the affected patients. They will also follow up with them once their procedure can be rescheduled.
The Ford Government has asked all hospitals to ramp down non-emergent clinical activity.
This should protect patients and increase the capacity for healthcare workers responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
