Tony and Connie Zappitelli pledge $1 million to the "It's Our Future" campaign
Another big donation has been made towards the new South Niagara hospital.
The Niagara Health Foundation says Tony and Connie Zappitelli and their family have pledged $1 million towards the project.
In recognition of the donation, the staff terrace at the hospital will be named the "Tony and Connie Zappitelli & Family Staff Terrace."
"We are so thankful to Tony, Connie and the Zappitelli family for supporting the new South Niagara hospital. Their support means so much, and we share their hope that their gift might inspire others in the region to support bringing a world-class healthcare facility to Niagara." - Andrea Scott, President and CEO of Niagara Health Foundation
To date, about $60 million has been raised.
The hospital will have over 400 beds, as well as centres of excellence for stroke, complex care and wellness in aging.
It's expected to open in 2028.
