Patients within Niagara Health have been getting opportunities to participate in COVID-19 related clinical trials.
Some of the studies happening at Niagara Health include the REMAP-Cap Study, which is evaluating the clinical effectiveness of various COVID-19 treatments in ICU patients.
There is also the COVI-Prone Study, which is examining whether lying on the stomach for COVID-19 patients with respiratory reduces the need for medical ventilation.
Johan Viljoen, Niagara Health's Chief of Staff spoke of the importance of these trials.
"The opportunity for our patients to be part of these clinical trials is important for discovering new and effective treatments for COVID-19."
