Two events being held to mark World Hepatitis Day.
Niagara Health is holding a pair of events to mark World Hepatitis Day, which takes place every year on July 28th.
The first event will take place Friday, July 22nd at Montebello Park from 11 AM to 3 PM.
The second will be held on July 28th at St. Andrews Untied Church in Niagara Falls from 10 AM to 2 PM.
The events will include education about services offered by Niagara Health Hepatitis C care clinic, as well as other resources for people suffering from the disease.
"The rate of those with hepatitis C in Niagara is higher than the provincial average," says Brenda Yeandle, Manager of Clinical Services in Addiction Services and Mental Health at Niagara Health. "Our team has continued to provide testing services throughout the entire COVID-19 pandemic. If you feel you may have been exposed, it’s extremely important to get tested and not take a chance in knowing your hepatitis C status."
