Provincial government says 10 new doctors have arrived this year
10 family doctors have arrived in Niagara since the beginning of the year.
Ontario's Ministry of Health says that means more than 9,000 people have been connected to primary care.
The Niagara Region says the progress shows sustained collaboration across municipalities, healthcare partners and local doctor offices.
One tool that has helped is Connect to Care, an online site started in July of last year, in partnership with Niagara's municipalities and Niagara Practitioners' Healthcare Alliance.
This shows the doctors available, and supports more recruitment of family doctors and specialists.
