Successful applicant will either purchase or lease airport assets
The Niagara District Airport has posted a request for proposals from companies looking to partner on the long term operation and management of the airport.
The airport, along with the cities of Niagara Falls, St. Catharines and the town of Niagara on the Lake, say the move will improve the competitiveness and efficiency of the airport and reduce their investment in airport operations.
According to the RFP, the partner will be required to either purchase or lease the airport assets, and honour current employee contracts.
Ownership of the land however would remain with the town of Niagara on the Lake.
The partner will also be expected to increase infrastructure investments and to bring more business to the facility
