Early Childhood Education Students at Niagara College have launched a free online preschool.
The NC Virtual Preschool was created to help students develop the skills that they would normally expand during program placements.
The COVID-19 pandemic has made it more difficult for these students to gain experience in kindergarten classes and childcare centres.
It has also resulted in fewer children taking advantage of these services, which the virtual preschool also aims to address.
ECE Program Coordinator Angela Hayes says that programs like this can provide extra support to parents who are home more often with their little ones these days and can't access childcare.
The program will allow users to meet with ECE students and engage in several early learning activities.
