Niagara College will be responsible for managing and overseeing the full digital production of the 28th Canada Games.
Niagara College has partnered up with the Niagara 2022 Host Society.
The school will become the Official Experiential & Digital Production Partner of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games.
Led by Peter VandenBerg, program coordinator of the school's Broadcasting - Radio, Television and Film Production Program, the Games will look to broadcast as many events and competitions online as possible, including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, with the assistance of students in the program.
As well, Niagara College will also be a VIP Hosting Hospitality Partner and collaborate on initiatives such as the Games sustainability and accessibility programming.
"We are very excited that Niagara College has partnered with our Host Society to strengthen many inspiring Games programs," said Doug Hamilton, Board Chair of the Niagara 2022 Host Society. "Not only will our collaboration elevate the experience we deliver for Games’ participants and fans alike, it will also enable us to provide once-in-a-lifetime learning and professional development opportunities to Niagara College faculty and students."
The Games will be held from August 6th to the 21st.
The 28th edition marks just the third time the Games have taken place in Ontario, and the first time in 21 years.
