The provincial government pressed by the NDP to expand flood disaster relief for families and businesses impacted by floods.
Leader Marit Stiles, along with St. Catharines' Jennie Stevens and Wayne Gates of Niagara Falls, want the Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontario program used for those in Ottawa, Niagara and Sudbury.
Jennie Stevens says people are still dealing with damage, and need support now, not months from now.
Wayne Gates writing the program needs to expand so farmers can start getting back on their feet.
The government has stated it's waiting for assessments to come from volunteers and insurance, to ensure insurance pays and not taxpayers.
