Management at the Outlet Collection Mall in Niagara have altered mask rules in anticipation of increased holiday traffic.
As reported by St. Catharines Standard, masks are now required in outdoor common areas, as well as inside stores and mall buildings.
At a recent meeting, Niagara-on-the-Lake councilors discussed creating a bylaw to require mall patrons to wear masks while frequenting the outdoor areas of the mall, but didn't go through with it because the mall is private property.
The mall will also hire extra security guards to assist with monitoring crowds, and they warn that there will be exterior lineups outside stores to ensure physical distancing.
