He decided to play Lightning Lotto, while heading home from the gym
The decision by a St. Catharines man to play the lottery on a whim has paid off considerably.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation says 61-year old Earl Longhurst stopped at 7-Eleven on Hartzel Road, as he headed home from the gym, and played Lightning Lotto.
He says the machine froze, started flashing, he thought he'd done something to it... turns out he won almost $186,000, his first big win.
He told his partner, she was in shock.
He plans to give $500 to each of the cashiers at the gas station, since he's a believer in giving, and he'll do some home renovations.
