A new survey by Leger says a majority of Canadians believe it should be mandatory to put winter tires on your vehicle.
The survey conducted for the Tire and Rubber Association of Canada found 65 percent of motorists want tires mandated like they are in Quebec.
Eighty percent of participants in the survey say they believe snow tires saved them from a serious accident.
Seventy-three percent of Ontarians use winter tires, compared to 92 percent in Atlantic Canada, 57 percent in B.C. and 50 percent in the Prairie provinces.
