Niagara Parks has announced a $19 million redevelopment project for the marina in Fort Erie.
FORT ERIE - A $19 million renovation is on the horizon for the Niagara Parks Marina.
Niagara Parks made the announcement last week. When all is said and done, Chair April Jeffs says the marina in Fort Erie will become a new recreational waterfront destination.
“The Niagara Parks Marina remains a key priority for Niagara Parks and a site that holds great potential for supporting new and repeat visitation to the area. We know how beloved this site is within the local community and we are proud to invest in its redevelopment to establish the marina as a new recreational hub along the south Niagara Parkway, providing benefits both for local residents and those visiting for the first time.”
New fishing areas will be added along with a new public boat launch, a retail store, new public bathrooms, and a new restaurant with outdoor patio space. It will also offer over 200 dock slips.
Niagara Parks will remain the owner and the operator of this site and it will be issuing a Request for Proposals for the design and build of the upgraded marina.
