The Ontario government is recognizing the efforts of volunteers across the province.
Among the 6658 recipients of the Ontario Volunteer Service Award are 58 winners from Niagara.
Local recipients are connected to numerous organizations including Hospice Niagara, Niagara Health Foundation, Pelham Cares in Fonthill, and Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold.
There are also several youth recipients from local chapters of Scouts Canada and Girl Guides of Canada.
The Ontario Volunteer Service Award recognizes individuals for their continuous years of volunteer service at a single organization.
