A 43-year-old man from Lincoln has been charged after a truck hit a house in Welland.
It happened in the Trent Ave and First Ave area last night.
Police say a white Ford pickup truck drove across a lawn, hit the house and a hydro pole before driving off.
Officers found the truck and the driver at a gas station in the Highway 20 and Regional Road 24 area.
He tried to flee but he lost control and drove into a nearby ditch.
He was not hurt but he has been charged with dangerous driving, impaired operation of a motor vehicle and fail to remain.
His license has also been suspended for 90-days.
Police also found a downed stop sign and two damaged hydro boxes, which may have caused power outages in the city.
But the exact path of the driver is still under investigation.
Anyone witnesses should contact Niagara Regional Police by calling 905-688-4111 with extension 3300.
