Global News has obtained copy of memo
Global News reporting this morning that Niagara Catholic School teachers will be receiving COVID-19 vaccines starting next week
The network has obtained an all staff memo that is set to be issued today from Director Of Education Camillo Cipriano.
The memo states, all active full time. part time, occasional and casual Niagara Catholic staff and those scheduled to return to work within the next six weeks are eligible to b e vaccinated next week.
The memo says bus drivers and crossing guards are also included in the plan.
Niagara Catholic would not comment on the report.
This come amid a growing chorus of calls to vaccinate teachers as thousands of students return to class today.
Two teacher's unions, ETFO and the English Catholic Teachers Association say its vital the province begin vaccinating all essential workers as quickly as possible.
Yesterday Peel Region's Medical Officer of Health ordered all schools closed in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon starting today for the next two weeks.
