Niagara's unemployment rate for July out later today
Our jobless stats for July are set to be released later this morning.
Stats Canada's labour force survey for June reported a record low unemployment rate of 4.9 per cent.
Canada currently has more than one-million job vacancies and is grappling with an ongoing labour shortage largely driven by demographic changes in the population.
Wages have also been on the rise, but are still falling behind the rate of inflation.
R-B-C economists predict the economy added 15-thousand jobs in July and the unemployment rate hovered at five per cent.
Niagara hit its own record-low in June with an unemployment rate of 4.5 per cent.
