Job Action at Niagara's Borders Could Start Friday

Talks between the Public Service Alliance and Treasury Board are continuing this week

The clock is ticking to avoid a nationwide strike at Niagara and the rest of Canada's border crossings.

More than 9-thousand Canada Border Service Agency employees will begin job action across the country starting on Friday (June 7th) at 4pm if an agreement is not reached.

The main sticking point in talks between the two sides is fair wages, equitable retirement benefits, and stronger workplace protections.

The two sides remain in negotiations this week with the assistance of a mediator in a last-ditch effort to reach an agreement.
