Habitat for Humanity Niagara says a Niagara mom and her three kids make it their home before Christmas
A heartwarming story for a Niagara mother and her three kids... moving into their new home built by Habitat for Humanity before Christmas.
CEO for Habitat Niagara Mark Carl tells us the home is in Port Colborne, with a mortgage set up tailored to the family's ability to pay. "Really been caught in that constant moving from one rental property to another rental property. Much like people are facing now, where landlords are selling property, and people have to move, and every time they move, rent goes up."
He adds this is the 3rd home built under the slogan Women Build, with the help of 100 women.
He says a lot of people deserve credit.
"Donate money, donate products and materials. And then volunteers come together from all the different corporations throughout Niagara... the realtors, and insurance companies, and they come together and make the house happen."
He says applications for a Welland home will be accepted in late January.
