Habitat for Humanity to start work on neglected house in St. Catharines
An old neglected home in St. Catharines will be transformed into Habitat for Humanity Niagara's 86th success story.
The City of St. Catharines recently acquired a single-family building on Junkin Street through a failed tax sale, and decided to use it for further housing goals.
It was sold to Habitat for Humanity Niagara, who will restore it for a local family.
Construction is to start this month, eventually to be sold to a local family through Habitat Niagara's Affordable Homeownership program.
The program offers an affordable mortgage, but also a requirement to complete 500 volunteer community hours.
