Police arrested the men after a foot chase in St. Catharines
A foot chase between police and two suspected drug dealers has led to their arrest in St. Catharines.
Officers were monitoring the sale of illegal drugs in the Geneva and Queenston Street area over December, when yesterday they came across two men they suspected were dealing.
When police tried to arrest the two, they ran off in opposite directions.
One of the men was arrested in an underground parking garage on Carlisle Street, and found to have some pills, money and drug paraphernalia.
The other was picked up in a green space around Geneva and Highway 406, and was seen throwing a gun away during the chase. That gun was eventually recovered by police.
The suspect was found to have pills, cocaine, some Canadian money, and drug paraphernalia.
22-year old Adonai Wilson of Brampton is charged with trafficking an opioid, and proceeds of crime under $5,000, while 25-year old Gareth Gavonne Andre Baugh, of Mississauga, faces a number of gun offenses, drug trafficking offenses and failing to comply with a release order.
Both are being held in custody pending a bail hearing today in St. Catharines.
