Company says an initial $1 million of raised funds will be released.
GoFundMe is releasing an initial $1 million of the funds raised for the "Freedom Convoy 2022" campaign.
The company confirming the release, saying organizers have provided a plan for the funds to be used to cover the cost of fuel for participants.
Earlier this week, GoFundMe was holding the funds until a clear plan was presented regarding how the money raised would be used.
As of noon today, the campaign has raised over $7.1 million.
GoFundMe says it will work with the organizer to release the remaining funds.
The "freedom convoy" will be holding a large rally to protest cross-border COVID-19 vaccine mandates and other public health restrictions at Parliament Hill in Ottawa tomorrow.
Thousands of truckers and supporters from across the country are expected to attend.
