On June 25th, Liam Neumann went missing while rafting in Twelve Mile Creek in St. Catharines
A Go Fund Me campaign has been set up by friends of a St. Catharines man who went missing in Twelve Mile Creek near St. Paul Crescent and Newton Street.
On June 25th, Liam Neumann was swept away by fast moving rapids while rafting with his dog.
A witness told police a man got off a raft, and it started to float away with the dog onboard.
Police say the man became submerged in the water when he tried to retrieve it.
The dog was found safe by St. Catharines Fire Services personnel.
This weekend, a body was found in the creek near Fourth Avenue, but the person's identity has not been confirmed.
An autopsy is being conducted by the coroner.
Campaign organizers say the money will go to his parents to help prepare for final arrangements and create a water safety foundation.
As of this morning, about $21,000 has been raised.
