Educators throughout Niagara will soon be able to receive COVID-19 vaccinations.
Effective April 9th, frontline staff who can't work from home will be able to book an appointment for a shot.
This includes teachers, supply teachers, early childhood educators, daycare workers and students on educational placement working in licensed childcare centres.
In addition, bus drivers, monitors, custodial, cafeteria and administrative staff, as well as licensed home childcare and in-home service providers can get inoculated.
Eligible workers will receive shots at the Seymour Hannah Recreation Complex in St. Catharines.
The decision to vaccinate education staff in the region comes after several outbreaks within schools and childcare centres, placing pressures on local health services.
