Charges have been laid after a man brought an axe onto a city bus in Niagara Falls.
Police say he boarded the bus in the Main Street and Ferry Street area yesterday morning.
He dropped the axe on the floor near the driver and the driver ran away.
Officers say the man was also carrying a large knife and there were also reports of him riding on the hood of a car before he boarded the bus.
No one was physically hurt.
A 33-year-old Fort Erie man has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failing to comply with probation.
He was transported to hospital for assessment.
