Premier Doug Ford says we just can’t risk it right now.
He thinks the Canada – US border should remain closed to non-essential traffic for the time being.
“I want to keep it closed. I made it very clear on the call with the Premiers and the Prime Minister that we need it closed. That excludes the trade back and forth, that’s still moving and that’s critical.”
He says we’ll welcome our American neighbours and everyone else around the world with open arms, once our Chief Medical Officer gives the green light.
The border crossings in Niagara and across the rest of the country closed back in March and the restrictions are set to expire next week.
