Say goodbye to the green, yellow, orange, red and grey colour coded restrictions
The Ford government is dropping its colour coded COVID framework.
Health Minister Christine Elliot says the system of restrictions will be replaced with a new reopening plan very soon
The system that outlined restrictions based on colour was introduced last fall and was designed to allow the province to quickly ramp up measures in regions experiencing increasing numbers of COVID cases.
Elliot told reporters yesterday "We have been working with the chief medical officer of health and the medical experts on a safe and careful reopening of Ontario because the last thing we want is to go into it too quickly and get into a fourth wave."
Sources, tell Toronto media, while an exact reopening date hasn’t been decided yet , the government is working on a rough timeline of June and early July to fully unlock the economy.
