Entertainment venues across Canada to light up in red tonight to show support for event staff still out of work due to the pandemic.
Artists, entertainment venues, technicians and suppliers are teaming up as part of a Canada-wide event to bring awareness to the struggling live event industry.
The organization Live Event Community is behind the event, which will take place an hour after sundown tonight.
Participants will raise awareness by lighting their buildings up in red and posting to social media using the hashtag #LightUpLive.
Officials with the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in St. Catharines say they are among this year's participants.
As part of our ongoing advocacy with industry partners, we're supporting a nationwide initiative called #LightUpLive.

The event also took place last year, with over 600 venues across Canada taking part.
While some venues are welcoming back a limited number of guests, many places are still struggling financially.
