This happened in Fort Erie over the summer and into September, the town says two people were charged
Two people from Fort Erie have been charged after it was found they tampered with their residential water meter.
The town says it looked into occurrences in the Dominion Road area during August and September, that led to 16 fines being laid against the two.
Town by-law prohibits anyone from interfering with, obstructing or preventing access to any municipal or private fire hydrant, water meter or related equipment.
Fines range from $400 minimum per case, or to this case, roughly $6,400.
