All Russian teams to be barred from FIFA and UEFA competitions until further notice.
FIFA and UEFA are banning Russia and its teams from competition until further notice.
This comes just weeks before the country was scheduled to play for a spot in the 2022 World Cup.
In a release, the organizations say the decision was made to show support for the people impacted by the attacks in Ukraine.
"Football is fully united here, and in full solidarity with all the people affected in Ukraine," the statement reads. "Both Presidents hope that the situation in Ukraine will improve significantly and rapidly so that football can again be a vector for unity and peace amongst people."
UEFA also ended its relationship with Russian sponsor Gazprom.
