UPDATE: QEW Cleared After Fatal Crash

Crash involved car and transport truck

One person has died following a crash in the Niagara bound lanes of the QEW at Fruitland Road.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says the crash involving a car and a transport truck happened around 6 this morning.

In a video, Schmidt says the truck was slowing or stopped when it was rear-ended by a vehicle.

The car flipped onto its roof and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have identified the victim as 20 year old Noah Ferrusi of Oakville.

All lanes of the highway at Fruitland were closed, but are now re-opened.
