A tragic end to a dramatic rescue operation yesterday at the brink of the falls.
A woman in her late 60’s, rescued from a nearly submerged vehicle, about 50 yards from the brink of the American Falls has died.
Police received a call about a car in the water near the pedestrian bridge floating towards the cataract early yesterday afternoon.
A U.S. Coast Guard chopper was called in to rescue the victim.
It’s still not known how the car ended up in the water.
