About $500,000 in damage has been reported after an apartment building fire in St. Catharines.
Deputy Chief Frank Biancucci says about 15 firefighters responded to blaze on Wembley Drive last night.
"The fire oriented on the third floor in one of the units. We were met by the occupant that was in the unit who had suffered both smoke and burns from the fire. He was treated at the scene and sent to hospital."
The fire didn't spread to any of the other units but it did spread to the attic.
Biancucci says it took them about five to 10 minutes to get the fire under control.
The Ontario Fire Marshall has been called in to investigate the cause.
