A new COVID-19 rehabilitation program has arrived in St. Catharines.
The inpatient program at Hotel Dieu Shaver already has four patients.
Executive Vice President David Ceglie says that the program will help restore post-acute patients to their pre-COVID quality of life.
"As this pandemic has evolved, it has become clear that many COVID-resolved patients now require rehabilitative care in order to regain their pre-COVID quality of life. Our in-patient program will focus on customized rehabilitation for physical, respiratory, and/or cognitive challenges that have resulted from their COVID-19 illness."
Admission criteria has been developed with the assistance of Niagara Health and acute care hospitals within the Hamilton-Niagara-Brantford Region, in order to determine who would benefit most from this care.
