Niagara Health officials say they are prepared for increase
Ontario logged more than 3,000 new cases yesterday for the fourth day in a row.
The increase in numbers comes despite limited PCR testing.
The last time Ontario surpassed the 3,000 marker was Feb. 10th.
Niagara Public Health will release new numbers today.
Cases were up on Friday across Niagara with 141 new infections reported.
Meantime, in a statement released on Friday, Niagara Health assuring residents, "We anticipated this increase in cases in the hospital as public health measures lifted and people started spending more time together. We are well prepared to manage hospital activity and want to recognize the extraordinary commitment of our staff and physicians to provide patients and families with safe, quality care."
As of Friday there were 39 patients in Niagara hospitals with COVID.
