Haley Bateman says she's received threats of Integrity Commissioner complaints, over amalgamation issue
Not surprising the governance reform issue has divided politicians.
Regional Councillor Haley Bateman releasing a statement claiming the backroom dealings organized by Chair Bob Gale and Minister Rob Flack, under direction of Premier Doug Ford, must end.
She says Chair Gale played a significant role in the 2014-18 governance issues, and being Chair now puts communities at risk.
She also states the Ontario Ombudsman has been contacted in every stage of this process.
While regional councillors must have a role in this, she accuses the Chair of overstepping his authority, and that she's received threats of Integrity Commissioner complaints against her.
The councillor adds Mayor Wayne Redekop has told Chair Gale he is overstepping his authority, however, in a recent council meeting, Bob Gale outlined how he is not doing that.
