Residents of Niagara Falls are being cautioned to be wary of a recent scam.
The City has received reports of people posing as City employees contacting residents over the phone.
The false representative offers sump pump and back water valve replacement at full cost and requests an inspection of private backyards.
The City is advising residents that they don't offer this program, nor do they conduct residential inspections in this way.
The City's WRAP (Weeping Tile Removal Assistance) program requires residents to submit an application to the City before an employee contacts them to schedule an appointment for an inspection.
You can find out more about the City's WRAP program here.
