Police had six vehicles towed from an Oakdale Avenue address
City of St. Catharines getting tough on parking infractions in a certain neighbourhood.
On Friday, in response to concerns about public safety and property damage, the city showed up with police at an Oakdale Avenue address, and towed six vehicles from nearby city property.
Mayor Mat Siscoe says he was glad the vehicles were moved from the area known for problems near homes.
The city says towing is a last resort, behind education, and other measures, yet, the problems have persisted for several years.
Not only has parking caused damage to public infrastructure, but also risks to pedestrians and other traffic.
