The fire department investigated the Standard and La Scala buildings
A conclusion has been reached by St. Catharines fire department, and NRP, into the Standard building and La Scala fires last month.
Fire Chief Dave Upper says they believe the fires started on the upper floors of both buildings, but, due to the damage a definitive answer to the origin of the fires will not be made.
The cause of the fires will stay as undeterrmined.
The fire department did find some form of combustible fuel source to start the fire, but even with canvassing the neighbourhood, and looking at video footage, an answer cannot be reached.
Police still encourage anyone with information that could give answers to call them.
