PEI based director says it's largely based near his hometown
A Canadian filmmaker is thrilled to have his movie, filmed in Prince Edward Island, screened in Fort Erie Monday night.
Jeremy Larter says it's called "Who's Yer Father?", featuring actors Chris Locke from "Run the Burbs", and Susan Kent, known for the "Trailer Park Boys" and "This Hour Has 22 Minutes".
He says he's been making movies for 15 years, and this is his 2nd feature. "A lot of the locations of the film were within a 10 minute drive of where I grew up in PEI, so I worked as a lobster fisherman one year, and also worked at the wharf, just down from where I grew up. So, the movie is infused with a lot of Prince Edward Island."
He adds the movie, which he wrote and directed, has been playing across Canada, at Cineplex and Landmark theatres nationwide.
"But it's also been playing at a lot of independent theatres across the country, and now it's part of the T.I.F.F. film circuit, which means all these different places across the country, many of them smaller towns, can screen films."
It shows at the Meridian Centre of the Arts, Fort Erie high school, with a Q&A of the director and co-producer after.
Doors open at 6, show starts at 7.
