Senator Marty Klyne will introduce Jane Goodall Act today
A member of the Senate will attempt to revitalize a bill that would bring an end to elephants being kept in captivity
The Jane Goodall Act, died on the table last year when the election was called.
Today, Senator Marty Klyne will introduce the bill again.
Klyne says the federal bill would ban new captivity of lions, apes, bears and hundreds of other animals at roadside zoos.
Klyne noting zoos, like the Toronto Zoo, would be exempt from the captivity ban and others can apply to become designated ``animal care organizations'' that meet standards of care and have whistleblower protections.
