Niagara Health says there’s another outbreak of COVID-19 at the St. Catharines Hospital.
One of the healthcare workers in the unit dedicated to caring for COVID-19 patients has tested positive for the virus.
The staff member is now self-isolating at home.
Niagara Health is following up with doctors and other staff who may have had contact with the person.
Unit 4-A will continue to admit patients with COVID-19 and some enhanced safety measures are already in place.
An outbreak was declared in medical unit 3-A on Saturday after another healthcare worker tested positive for the virus.
That unit has been temporarily closed to admissions and transfers and safety measures have been put in place.
