Ramp expected to be installed by the summer
The City of Welland has received a $100,000 grant that will help pay for a new ramp at Maple Park Pool.
The money is from the Enabling Accessibility Fund.
"Removing barriers for persons with disabilities continues to be a priority for the city," said Rob Axiak, director of community services. "A ramp at Maple Park Pool is a necessary step to enable all residents of Welland to enjoy what the facility has to offer."
Last week council approved using the funds received on the ramp.
Construction is underway, and is expected to be complete by the summer.
