It's going to be windy in Niagara Falls and Welland.
A special weather statement remains in effect for the southern half of the Region with winds up to 80 kilometres per hour in the forecast for today.
Environment Canada says a cold front is moving through the area and the winds should start to diminish later this afternoon.
Strong winds can easily toss around loose objects and cause power outages.
