The region and Niagara Health coordinating new partnership to find even more doctors
28 new family doctors have been hired in the Niagara Region in the past year, as the Region and Niagara Health further coordinate efforts.
In fact, the two governing bodies say they have formalized a new partnership to address primary and specialist care needs.
Central to this is the addition of a jointly funded Physician Recruitment Coordinator, who will provide admininstrative and recruitment support.
The region says this will free the current Recruitment Program Manager Jill Croteau to focus on developing and executing a regional strategy.
The partnership will improve tracking and research, and share tools and data for new doctors.
