52 tickets issued
Twenty-two commercial vehicles were removed from the road during a recent safety blitz by police.
On Tuesday, the Niagara Regional Police Service teamed up with the Halton Regional Police Service, the Town of Lincoln and the Ministry of Transportation for a joint enforcement initiative.
Police were on the lookout for commercial vehicles intentionally bypassing the Vineland Inspection Station.
Over 150 passenger and commercial vehicles were sent to the station, and 68 vehicles were inspected.
Police removed 22 vehicles after safety issues were found.
Three sets of license plates were seized, and 52 tickets were issued for various offences, including: drive motor vehicle no license, insecure load, defective push rods, inaccurate inspection logs, and excessive exhaust smoke.
